I am not convinced an OA glossary needs this term but if it is kept I suggest adding a hyphen as the usual form seems to be ‘read-only’. Also perhaps add for clarity, from the rest of the webopedia definition:
All operating systems allow you to protect objects (disks, files, directories) with a read-only attribute that prevents other users from modifying the object.
