Short Definition: A librarian with a specific responsibility for managing and/or advising about research data within their organisations.

Extended Definition: A librarian with a specific responsibility for managing and/or advising about research data within their organisations. They may undertake curation and metadata-related work, manage an institutional data repository, contribute to an institution’s data policy, and provide researchers with general information and advice about the archival storage and preservation of research data beyond the institution.
